Beyond the Forest

Beyond the Forest is a theatrical narrative side-scroller in which you take a Miko to perform an important generational ritual. Dodge patterns of restless spirits as they try to prevent you from getting to the sacred altar.

This is a simple functional prototype with some ideas for a fuller game that may happen or not. Right now, the game starts you out with the Shield and Fan relics, they grant one extra hit per scene and an extra jump respectively. You can disable them in the options menu if you fancy a harder challenge.

Controls are also simple:

-Keyboard ⌨️

• Move: Side arrow keys/AD
• Jump: Space Bar or W/Up key
• Confirm: Space Bar
• Skip cutscenes: J
  

-Controllers 🎮

• Move: Directional or Left Analog
• Jump: Lower button (XBOX A)
• Confirm: Same as above
• Skip cutscenes: Select

-F11 to enter full screen

The game has a secret uncommon ending, try finding it if you can!
